WELCOME TO THE PLANET
WHERE (NOT ONLY) DINOSAURS ARE BORN...
Our last project:
ROBOTIC TRICERATOPS
ABOUT US
WE HAVE BEEN IN THE CREATIVITY BUSINESS FOR 20 YEARS AND STILL ENJOY IT
Machine Planet is a Czech company with a tradition of making fantasy decorations, static and robotic models of prehistoric animals and unique exhibition installations.
We are the exclusive contractor for models, decorations and maintenance for the chain of DinoPark Europe theme parks. Machine Planet products are not available on the open market.
HOW DO WE WORK?
FROM THE IDEA TO A ROBOTIC ALLOSAUR IN 5 STEPS
Passion, creativity, flexibility, technical and technological know-how, paleontology experts and people who are not afraid.
This is the recipe for a robotic dinosaur Made in the Czech Republic.
FANTASY BREEDS IMAGINATION AND THE IDEA IS THE KEY. WITHOUT IT, NOTHING HAPPENS.
WE GO FROM THE IDEA TO IMAGES, FROM HEAD TO HAND, THEN TO PAPER OR TO CLAY.
IN THE PROJECT, WE SET PRIORITIES AND DETERMINE WHAT AND HOW ACTUALLY GETS CREATED.
THE PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT ALWAYS CHECKS HOW GOOD THE PROJECT IS AND OFTEN ADDS TO IT.
THE INSTALLATION BREATHES LIFE INTO THE WORK – BUT THE TRANSPORT OF A 25-METER ROBOT CAN ALSO BE CHALLENGING.
WHAT EXACTLY DO WE PRODUCE?
PRODUCING ROBOTIC MODELS
The beginnings of producing robotic models of dinosaurs in the Czech Republic date back to 2002, when a decision was made to build the first unique amusement and educational park here, today known as DinoPark. From the very beginning, the construction contractor, the Pilsen company WEST MEDIA, encountered the problem of the complexity of acquiring such models. There are very few companies on the market for these robotic devices worldwide,
mainly in the USA and Japan. Purchasing adequate models here proved to be unrealistic given the prices, warranty options, installation and also production capacity. From the very beginning, DinoPark needed many more models than the global market (very small at the time) was able to supply. Production therefore started on its own in a small workshop in Pilsen, both with our own creative department and team of designers. At present, our company has developed
the fifth generation of these robotic models. The production of a new type of robotic dinosaur takes approximately two years and involves a team of specialists from many technical professions. An integral part of the development includes regular consultation with leading experts in paleontology, mechatronics and materials.
PRODUCTION OF STATIC MODELS
The first models that were created in our country were various exhibits and exhibition decorations. Our current production portfolio is extensive – from models of a dinosaur embryo the size of a chicken egg and fossil replicas to dozens of species of paleontologically accurate models of prehistoric animals and dinosaurs,
the largest of which measures almost 40 meters. However, we do not only make animals. For the DinoPark in Liberec, we created a model of a prehistoric baobab, inside which there is a staircase that leads visitors to the next floor. A unique piece in our portfolio is a working model of a Mesozoic volcano
for the DinoPark in Ostrava. A completely unique model in our portfolio is Eric, a replica of the first British robot built in 1928 and inspired by Čapek's "R.U.R.". The model is now part of the Czech pavilion of the EXPO 2020 exhibition in Dubai.
EXHIBITION INSTALLATION
Our products also get lots of admiration at various exhibitions. For example, there were several exhibits at the Robot 2020 exhibition at the Technical Museum in Brno. Here we also organized Dinosaurs on a Chain – Mechatronics and Illusion, a very successful
exhibition on 1,300 m² of space that was visited by more than 65,000 visitors from November 2016 to March 2017. The exhibitions Merciless Prehistory in the West Bohemian Museum in Pilsen and the Return of the Dinosaurs in Pilsen, České Budějovice, Teplice and
Bratislava were similarly successful. We also regularly stage unique exhibitions in shopping malls in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
